Show off your Rokugani kit!

Postby Mayhem » Tue Jun 12, 2012 1:07 am

In the spirit of this thread on myarmoury.com I am starting a thread for people to show off the pretty/awesome things they have made for L5RP. Put up pictures of things you're proud of to serve as inspiration, get feedback, and so on. Positive and constructive comments only!

I'm going to get the ball rolling with this body armour I spent the long weekend making for Bride_of_Lister! Still needs final fitting but the main work is done.

I used this guide by Anthony Bryant as a guideline, but I flubbed a few things deliberately or for speed reasons. As far as I can tell, the style is "Hishinui Haraate Do" - front & sides lace-riveted plates.

The material is lawn edging like Wilky's prototypes, but I've sanded all the plates to give it a dusty finish. The rope is cheap poly cording from Bunnings - it braids beautifully!

Tres snazzy!

I am a big fan of the scalloped lames on the upper set and the shoulder-plates on the lower set. I don't think I'll be able to get haute-guards on Sode made with my technique :(

Thanks, man.

Actually, the upper set is interesting.

I'm going to get it to a wearable state, add a few more bits, wear it at the event and then sell it. The buyer doesn't want the shoulder guards, so I'll just add the skirty-bits and some vambraces to it.

Then, I will start work on my own suit.

Yeah that moulded do is nice on the bottom set. And nice to see some sode. Just like western pauldrons and, you know, cowbell, you cant have too much sode.

I found out recently I wont be making it to the event even to NPC so hope there are some good photos of all this kit!
