Re: Leaving the Shrine

Asako Chigo fusses over and bullies the other Samurai attending to Uona, ensuring that she will need for nothing on the road. Before she departs, he shares a few quiet words with her. Re: Around the Shrine of Courage

Asako Chigo places himself at Isawa Uona's disposal, running errands, directing servants, and taking quiet moments to draft and finalise letters ensuring the safe delivery of hostages - including a letter of passage for Yoritomo Garou before his departure.

Re: The Throne room of the Emerald Empire - Otosan Uchi

Re: The Throne room of the Emerald Empire - Otosan Uchi

Otherwise unmoving, Chigo dips his head; perhaps nodding, perhaps not. It is hard to tell.

Re: The Throne room of the Emerald Empire - Otosan Uchi

A thin smile is visible on Chigo's lips as he rises slightly, remaining seated on his knees to sit with head lowered. When he speaks it is as a thoughtful scholar ruminating on a conundrum and almost a whisper, so quiet that the court must be practically silent to hear: "If I may be so bold, ho...

Re: The Throne room of the Emerald Empire - Otosan Uchi

Chigo has been moving gradually through the crowd. At the moment of silence following the Emperor's question, he shuffles up beside Shoruro Kenshin, his hat dipped and eyes hidden. With an awkward favour to his right leg, he prostrates himself and awaits recognition from Miya Soto.

Re: The Throne room of the Emerald Empire - Otosan Uchi

Standing to the rear of the hall, lost in the crowd, Asako Chigo listens to the Topaz Magistrate's report. His hat brim is lowered to conceal his eyes and he does not appear to react to the content of the various reports brought before the Emperor.

Re: 1st leg - From Mimura to the Drowned Merchant River

[Investigation 8] Without apparently stirring, Chigo murmurs in a gentle, quiet, singsong voice that still carries on the air. "I may seem blind, but I can hear you perfectly, Hikone-san. You saw blackeyes fall and felt the doors of Jigoku slam shut, just as I did. What doubt could there be th...

Re: 1st leg - From Mimura to the Drowned Merchant River

Asako Chigo takes advantage of any rest stops to sit himself propped against a nearby tree (or failing that, the base of the cart), meditating with his hat down over his eyes and his legs raised to take weight off them. His Yojimbo stands at a nonchalant guard while he does so.

Re: Short duration buff spells and you (rules proposal)

Now, while the process of casting the spell involves touching armour with a spell packet (your character was unarmoured? so can't use it anyway?), would it be beneficial do you think, to apply, say, a sticky red patch instead? That way the enemies would sort of know "hey, that armour is on fir...

Re: The penalties of non-magical healing (RP)

You're right in that the system works really well for the game we're playing. The criticisms I've heard generally comes in 3 camps: 1) It doesn't feel like L5R (tabletop), where getting hurt is really horrible/deadly, etc. 2) It's too good compared to magical healing, which is a much more limited r...

Re: Short duration buff spells and you (rules proposal)

Anyway, to go right back to the original question, I think 30 seconds is a long time in a fight and that the spells with that kind of duration are probably fine. I've used it twice. Once the bushi had forgotten what the spell effect was, so it was wasted. Probably my fault for not teaching better. ...
